One of the mainstays of the
tourism industry in Newfoundland and Labrador is big game
hunting and fishing. Each year thousands of anglers and
hunters from all over the globe travel to take part in these
outdoor sports.
A land of enormous wilderness,
Newfoundland and Labrador has established itself as a primary
destination for outdoor sports. Since confederation with
Canada in 1949, the tourism industry has been steadily on
the increase and contributes more and more to the provincial
economy. Although flawed on times, the government has done
a great deal of establishing and maintaining a wildlife
and game fish population to support a huge demand for the
outdoor sports of this province.
In recent years adventure
tours is becoming very popular in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Boat tours, snowmobile tours, aircraft tours and other sightseeing
tours are on the verge of becoming a major part of Newfoundland
and Labrador's tourism industry.
The outfitters of province
should be commended for their tremendous effort they have
put forth in providing the lodging, meals, guides and most
of all the "Hospitality" to make Newfoundland
and Labrador one of the best places in the world to enjoy
outdoor sports.
