There are hunting and fishing outfitters in Newfoundland and Labrador that provide luxurious accommodations and others that operate from comfortable wilderness type hunting and fishing lodges. Our Snowmobile tour operators offer some of the best accommodations of this type in the province.

Outfitters that offer more modern and luxurious lodging are generally those that operate in less remote locations. But there are outfitters that operate very remote camps while still providing all of the modern ammenities to their guest. Those that offer wilderness type lodging usually see lower hunting and fishing pressure from local hunters and fishermen, but seldom offer spacious dining and living areas, for example.

Most of our Outfitters have full time cooks, showers, separate hunter living areas, and indoor washrooms. However, there are outfitters that have the most of "roughing it" type operations for the adventurous outdoorsmen. (Note) It is a requirement to provide guest with washroom facilities, but in some cases these facilities are outside the lodge in the form of "outhouses".

In addition a large percentage of hunting lodges are located "lake-side". This often provides the hunter with an additional outdoor activity if he/she tags out early. Many of these lakes are spawning areas for Atlantic Salmon and Lake Trout and the fishing is often some of the best in Canada. (Note:) only early season hunters can take advantage of fishing opportunities for Atlantic Salmon, since the fishing season closes shortly after the hunting season begins.
